Last weekend (Thursday 20th-Sunday 23rd February) we had the delight of having Jill Weber, author of Even the Sparrow: A Pilgrim’s Guide to Prayer, Trust and Following the Leader in Scotland for a book tour.

Edinburgh

On Thursday, Jill spoke with Muddy Pearl editor Fiona Houston at Blackwells Edinburgh and shared about the story behind her book, as well as some reflections on Lent. Even the Sparrow makes for great companion for the Lent period, with 40 short chapters to guide you through. It is a great invitation to pilgrimage through its pages and discover rest and retreat in its words.

Motherwell

On Friday, Jill travelled with Muddy Pearl marketing officer Healey Roseweir to Motherwell to join a special ‘meet the author’ event at GLO Bookshop – including a wonderful afternoon tea! Jill shared about ‘setting our hearts on pilgrimage’, not going through life merely as tourists, but as pilgrims, looking for Jesus in each day we face and each person we meet.

Blessed are those whose strength is in you, who have set their hearts on pilgrimage. – Psalm 84:5

Dundee

Saturday saw Jill headed to Dundee for the 24-7 Prayer Scotland Gathering and sharing stories of the incredible work of Houses of Prayer across Scotland, as well as leading a seminar on building houses of prayer.

Glasgow

Finally on Sunday Jill travelled to Queen’s Park Baptist Church in Glasgow to be part of Global Focus Sunday, where she shared her story of allowing God to interrupt her life and learning to follow where he leads.

Thanks to everyone who welcomed Jill to Scotland, and those who came along to the events!
